Max Dales, started Maxprop in October 1958 in a small converted garage in Durban, before moving the company to Pinetown and later expanding it even more by opening branches in Westville, Hillcrest and Kloof. Commercial and Industrial offices can also be found in Pietermaritzburg, Empangeni, Eshowe, Ladysmith, Margate, Newcastle, and Richards Bay.

Maxprop offers a range of property services which include residential sales and letting, and commercial and industrial sales, lettings and auctions. Professional trainers are employed to instruct the sales force on the basics of Real Estate knowledge and procedures as well as on internal sales and management.
Understanding the importance of property in investment portfolio’s, several years ago Maxprop decided to make investments available not only to big public companies, but also to the smaller investors in the form of property syndications. Through property syndications the agency has managed to achieve returns that consistently outperform inflation as well as giving their investors, all within appropriate risk profiles, capital growth over a period of time.
