Fastest moving housing market in the UK

London? Manchester? No, Northampton!

A survey carried out by Zoopla looked at 50 cities and large towns outside of London in order to measure the period that passed between a home being put on to the market and it going under offer. According to these findings the national average period between listing a home for sale and achieving an offer is around 47 days, which explains why Northampton, where homes take just 27 days on average to go under the hammer, has proved itself the latest uk property hotspot! Second on the website’s list was Milton Keynes, followed by Croydon, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

The fast paced market in these areas should encourage landlords, who are looking to expand their portfolios to ensure they have everything in place in order for them to not miss out on great real estate opportunities. It should also be a warning for buyers who are interested in purchasing a new home in these cities: if you find a property you love, jump on it right away or it will be gone by the time you come back around.

Here are Britain’s top 10 property hotspots according to the Zoopla survey:

1. Northampton, 27 days

2. Milton Keynes, 29 days

3. Croydon, 30 days

4. Edinburgh, 32 days

5. Glasgow, 33 days

6. Bristol, 34 days

7. Southampton, 34 days

8. Coventry, 35 days

9. Salford, 36 days

10. Ipswich, 36 days
